Marion Tauschwitz, Jahrgang 1953, lebt und arbeitet in Heidelberg. Studium der Germanistik und Anglistik an der Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg, Gymnasiallehrerin und Dozentin, seit 2006 Schriftstellerin.
Marion Tauschwitz war engste Vertraute und Mitarbeiterin der bekannten Nachkriegslyrikerin Hilde Domin (1909-2006), zu deren einhundertstem Geburtstag sie die vielbeachtete Biografie „Hilde Domin. Dass ich sein kann, wie ich bin“ vorlegte.
Zahlreiche Biografien, literarische Essays, Vorworte in Lyrikbänden, Beiträge für Lexika, ein Roman, eine autobiografische Novelle.
Tauschwitz ist Mitglied des VS Baden-Württemberg, der Autorinnenvereinigung e.V., Erste Vorsitzende der GEDOK Heidelberg.
2013 und 2019 Arbeitsstipendien des Förderkreises deutscher Schriftsteller in Baden-Württemberg.
2015 Auszeichnung zur Autorin des Jahres.
2018 wurde sie in das PEN-Zentrum Deutschland gewählt.

Ich will Bildhauer werden. Ich gehe nicht in die Schule zurück! Der dreizehnjährige Lehrersohns vom Niederrhein will Schaffen und Gestalten der Zerstörung durch den II. Weltkrieg entgegensetzen. Der junge Rebell bricht aus der Provinz aus, verlässt die Düsseldorfer Kunstakademie, wo sich seine Freundschaft mit Joseph Beuys festigte, bricht sein erkämpftes Studium in Berlin ab und folgt 1958 der Einladung des Dior-Fotografen Willy Maywald nach Südfrankreich. Obsession und Passion treiben ihn an. Aus ökonomischer Not wendet er sich dem Werkstoff Palmenholz zu – und wird „der einzige Künstler auf der Welt, der dem Palmenholz eine künstlerische Qualität geben kann“. Die Kunstszene bestraft den Eigenbrötler, der sich jegliche Protektion widersetzt, mit Missachtung. Deshalb will er im Alter sein Lebenswerk zerstören lassen – als ein Wunder geschieht.

Aus der Provinz in die Provence – das ungewöhnliche Leben des Künstlers Pierre Theunissen

Ich will Bildhauer werden. Ich gehe nicht in die Schule zurück! Der Entschluss des dreizehnjährigen Lehrersohns vom Niederrhein steht fest, nachdem Bomber der Royal Air Force Kleve am 7. Oktober 1944 in Schutt und Asche legten und im Februar 1945 völlig dem Erdboden gleichmachten. Schaffen und Gestalten will er der Zerstörung entgegensetzen. Der junge Rebell bricht aus der Provinz aus, verlässt die Düsseldorfer Kunstakademie, wo sich seine Freundschaft mit Joseph Beuys festigte, bricht sein erkämpftes Studium in Berlin ab und folgt 1958 der Einladung des Dior-Fotografen Willy Maywald nach Südfrankreich. Obsession und Passion treiben ihn an. Aus ökonomischer Not wendet er sich dem Werkstoff Palmenholz zu – und wird „der einzige Künstler auf der Welt, der dem Palmenholz eine künstlerische Qualität geben kann“. Namhafte Künstler kreuzen in Paris und in der Provence seinen Weg: Picasso, Yves Klein, Paolo Boni, Eduardo Chillida und Max Ernst. Die Kunstszene bestraft den Eigenbrötler, der sich jegliche Protektion widersetzt, mit Missachtung. Deshalb will er im Alter sein Lebenswerk zerstören lassen – als ein Wunder geschieht.
