Seit 2011 lebt sie in München und leitet die Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung Bayern. Ihre literaturwissenschaftliche Dissertation über Rosa Luxemburg schloss sie 2018 an der Universität Potsdam ab.

Rosa Luxemburg ist eine bedeutende Vertreterin der internationalen Arbeiterbewegung. Ihre Gedanken und ihr Einsatz für die Revolution und den demokratischen Sozialismus sind auch über 100 Jahre nach ihrer Ermordung noch immer aktuell. Dies bezeugen nicht nur zahlreiche Konferenzen weltweit zu ihrem Wirken und Denken, sondern auch mehr als 40 Biographien sowie Dramen, Lyrik, Dokumentationen und Filme. Im Mittelpunkt der vorliegenden Dissertation steht das Rosa-Luxemburg-Bild in der deutschsprachigen Prosa von 1919 bis ins 21. Jahrhundert.

Rosa Luxemburg lebt in einer entscheidenden Epoche des europäischen Sozialismus. Sie vertritt einerseits ihre sozialistische Politik mit dem Ziel, den Kapitalismus zu überwinden. Anderseits wird sie als Autorin leidenschaftlicher Liebesbriefe bekannt und als begeisterte Tier- und Naturfreundin. Diese scheinbar widersprüchlichen Charakterfacetten finden sich in verschiedenster Gewichtung auch in der über sie verfassten biographischen und literarischen Prosa wieder.

Sie kam über Nacht und blieb: die Corona Pandemie. In wenigen Jahren werden wir die Texte zu Corona und zum Lockdown lesen und nur noch staunen: War das wirklich so? Schriftsteller*innen waren stets Seismographen für die Zustände in der Gesellschaft, was sich in dieser Anthologie wieder sehr eindringlich bestätigt. Die hier vorliegenden Geschichten und Gedichte zeigen zu welchem Ideenreichtum und welcher Kreativität Menschen in Krisensituationen fähig sind, aber auch zu welchen Absurditäten.
Diese Anthologie ist schon jetzt ein historischer Schatz.

Aus der Provinz in die Provence – das ungewöhnliche Leben des Künstlers Pierre Theunissen

Ich will Bildhauer werden. Ich gehe nicht in die Schule zurück! Der Entschluss des dreizehnjährigen Lehrersohns vom Niederrhein steht fest, nachdem Bomber der Royal Air Force Kleve am 7. Oktober 1944 in Schutt und Asche legten und im Februar 1945 völlig dem Erdboden gleichmachten. Schaffen und Gestalten will er der Zerstörung entgegensetzen. Der junge Rebell bricht aus der Provinz aus, verlässt die Düsseldorfer Kunstakademie, wo sich seine Freundschaft mit Joseph Beuys festigte, bricht sein erkämpftes Studium in Berlin ab und folgt 1958 der Einladung des Dior-Fotografen Willy Maywald nach Südfrankreich. Obsession und Passion treiben ihn an. Aus ökonomischer Not wendet er sich dem Werkstoff Palmenholz zu – und wird „der einzige Künstler auf der Welt, der dem Palmenholz eine künstlerische Qualität geben kann“. Namhafte Künstler kreuzen in Paris und in der Provence seinen Weg: Picasso, Yves Klein, Paolo Boni, Eduardo Chillida und Max Ernst. Die Kunstszene bestraft den Eigenbrötler, der sich jegliche Protektion widersetzt, mit Missachtung. Deshalb will er im Alter sein Lebenswerk zerstören lassen – als ein Wunder geschieht.
