Recht Irdisches bescheint das Himmelslicht, jeden Morgen neu, aufweckend und ermutigend, auch wenn graue Nebel mitunter den klaren Blick verschleiern. Von den Niederungen täglicher Malaisen sollte man sich nicht entmutigen lassen. Dank Heine durchschauen wir den Lauf der Sonne: Das ist ein altes Stück/ Hier vorne geht sie unter/ Und kehrt von hinten zurück. Folgen auch den Mühen der Berge recht oft die Mühen der Ebene, so gibt es doch Ziele, die zu erreichen sich lohnt.

Immer wieder fanden sich Menschen, couragiert, mit Witz, List und Bedacht, die sie verfolgen und sich für ihre Verwirklichung einsetzen: Highlights und Fortschritt auf dem Weg hin zu einer fairen und demokratischen Gesellschaft, des aufreibenden Kampfs um Menschenrechte. Davon erzählen diese Gedichte: von siegreichen Etappen hin zu einer Gesellschaft, in der gegenseitiger Respekt und Menschenwürde den Ton angeben. Von taktlosen Gesellen oder auftretenden Misstönen muss man sich nicht aus dem Tritt bringen lassen. Dafür steht das Himmelslicht. Jeden Morgen neu. Hier in unregelmäßige Verse gesetzt, wie auch die Geschichte oft in stolpernden Schritten ihre Wege bewältigt zu humanen Zielen.

Tief in den Brunnen der Vergangenheit zu blicken, um Zukunft einschätzen und gestalten zu können, dazu laden diese Notate ein. Wer nicht von dreitausend Jahren/ Sich weiß Rechenschaft zu geben,/ Bleib im Dunkeln unerfahren,/ Mag von Tag zu Tage leben. Tief zu schürfen im Fundus der Erinnerungen und Überlieferungen – dazu wollen diese Beiträge anregen: Glück auf!

Anmutig und liebenswert – das Land entlang der Erft, eine Idylle abseits von Metropolen. Prächtige Adelssitze wie Schloss Harff, wehrhafte Burgen und imponierende Kirchen wie der Immerather Dom lagen oder liegen an ihrem Lauf: eine reiche Kulturlandschaft. Reste römischer Tempel und Villen bewahrt der Boden als Zeugnisse. Die Bürger griffen zu, als sich die Chance bot, den Reichtum zu gewinnen, der tief im Erdreich schlummert: Braunkohle. Doch dieser Gewinn besitzt ein Janusgesicht. Krebserregend ist der Feinstaub. Strom-Meiler erhitzen das Klima. Wohlstand versprach die Braunkohle, bewirkt aber auch die Zerstörung der Heimat mit ihren kulturellen und Schätzen der Natur. Geschichte in Geschichten wird hier lyrisch erzählt, als Parabeln zu lesen, für Entwicklungen weltweit.

Helgoland ist der Schlussstein, wo sich die Elbe in die Nordsee ergießt. Auch Honolulu taucht auf, doch in seiner Form als sandige Erhebung in einer Regenpfütze, die dem ganz jungen Dichter als Spielplatz dient – und dem älteren als Ort der Imagination, als eine geheimnisvolle Verbindung zwischen Leser und Autor.

Fanatismus und Liebe sind im Spiel, wo es auf Helgoland eigentlich um Schellfischfang und Robbenjagd gehen sollte.
